Sales of single family existing homes dipped in Maine last month while average sales prices continued to increase when compared to the same period last year.

The trends are outlined in latest figures released by Maine Listings.

Meanwhile, the number of home sales as a whole for this year to date is a dead heat with last year – Maine’s best ever for residential real estate sales.

One hundred and 23 fewer homes were sold in November than the same month in 2018 representing a decline of 7.59%. In contrast, the median sales price (MSP) hit $225,000, up 2.74%.

The dip in actual sales has again been attributed to the on-going limited inventory of homes available for sale. The number of Maine homes for sale is 13% lower than a year ago.
