Values for single family homes in Maine remains strong despite latest figures showing a dip in year-on-year sales.
Latest figures from Maine Listings indicate that home sales were down 7.18% in June when compared with the same month last year.
A longer term perspective revealed a less pronounced dip in sales with a decrease of around 2% in the first half of this year when measured against the same period in 2018.
Industry watchers continue to point to a lack of inventory for the decline in units moved with the number of properties for sale down year-on-year by nearly 6%.
Meantime, home values still continue to hold strong with an increase of 5.09% when comparing last month to June of last year. The median sales price (MSP) standing at $239,085. The MSP is based on half of homes selling for more and half selling for less.
The general outlook of those in the business remains cautiously confident with historically low interest rates continuing to provide cause for optimism.
